This notice describes the current Extreme Kalimba website at extremekalimba.com, an independent project. To contact the project about this notice or your information, use the contact instructions.

Music files and exports

MIDI analysis and conversion, audio transcription, editing and export generation run on your device. Selecting a song or recording for these tools does not upload that file to our server. The site downloads application files, fonts and model files needed to run the tools. Exported music and videos are generated in your browser.

Browser storage

The app uses browser storage for working drafts, saved songs, recovery versions, instrument profiles, preferences and feedback drafts. Feedback storage can include the message, optional reply email and an identifier used to prevent duplicate submissions. These are functional records on your device, not an advertising profile.

You can remove local records using your browser's site-data controls. This may permanently remove songs and drafts. Download project backups first. Downloads you keep on your device are under your control.

Feedback you choose to send

When you submit feedback, your message, optional email address, page path and submission identifier are sent to our feedback endpoint. The message, reply email and page path are delivered to the project by email using Resend. The submission identifier helps prevent duplicate delivery. Songs and recordings are not attached.

The feedback endpoint uses your IP address for rate limiting. The application does not include that address in feedback emails or intentionally write it to application logs. Hosting and email providers may separately process technical information to operate and secure their services.

Submitted messages and any correspondence may remain in the project's email inbox for responding to requests and investigating reported problems. You can request deletion through the feedback form; identify the message or email address concerned. Provider retention and backup practices are governed by their own policies.

Hosting and service providers

Cloudflare hosts and delivers the website and operates the feedback endpoint. Requests necessarily provide technical information such as IP address and request metadata to the hosting service. Resend processes submitted feedback for email delivery. These services may process information outside your country.

Advertising

No third-party advertising scripts are currently installed in this version of the website. Before advertising is activated, this notice will be updated to describe the advertising providers, their data use and the applicable consent and privacy controls.

Donations and external websites

Donation links open Ko-fi on an external website. Extreme Kalimba does not take payment details through this website. If you follow an external link, that service's own privacy practices apply. See Ko-fi's privacy policy.

Your choices

You can use the music tools without creating an account, leave the reply email blank when sending feedback, remove local browser data and choose whether to visit external services. Privacy questions and requests can be sent through the feedback form.
